§ 01 — Why

Driving without a valid MOT can cost you up to £1,000, and the date is easy to forget.

The official reminders come separately.

DVLA sends a tax reminder, and DVSA will send MOT reminders if you sign up for them. They arrive at different times and it's easy to miss one. This app puts both dates for every vehicle in one list.

It looks the dates up.

A calendar reminder only knows the date you typed in. This app gets the dates from the registration and reminds you 1, 7, 14 or 30 days before.

More than one vehicle.

£1.99 covers two vehicles. If you have more, Unlimited Vehicles is £4.99 a year. Each vehicle has its own status, countdown and GOV.UK link.

Set the notice separately for MOT and tax. You only get a notification when one is coming up.

Where does the MOT and tax data come from?

When you add a UK registration, the app sends it to our server, which looks it up with DVLA's Vehicle Enquiry Service and sends back the MOT and tax dates. Only the registration is sent. The privacy policy has the details.

How many notifications will I get?

Only the ones you ask for. Reminders go out 1, 7, 14 or 30 days before a deadline, chosen separately for MOT and tax. The rest of the time the app is quiet.

What if my vehicle isn't UK‑registered?

The app only supports UK registrations, such as AB12CDE. If you want another country, email and say which.

How many cars can I add?

The £1.99 purchase covers two vehicles with no time limit. For more, the Unlimited Vehicles subscription is £4.99 a year.

What's the Document Wallet?

Part of Unlimited Vehicles. Scan your driving licence and passport, plus each vehicle's insurance, V5C, MOT certificate and breakdown cover, with the camera. They're encrypted on your phone and open only with Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode, and the app can remind you before insurance, MOT certificate or breakdown cover expires. A photo of your licence isn't a legal substitute for the real one in the UK; it's a copy for convenience.

Does it renew the tax for me?

No. Only GOV.UK can do that. The app has a button that opens the GOV.UK page for taxing your vehicle. An MOT has to be done at a test centre; the app links to GOV.UK's booking page.
